Newfolden Grateful Hearts Quilts of Valor presented on Veteran’s Day at MCC

Once again, the Newfolden Grateful Hearts Quilts of Valor presented beautiful, patriotic quilts to area Veteran’s during the Veteran’s Day program presented at MCC. American Legion Post 427 and MCC High School presented a moving program, featuring music by MCC High School Choirs, a welcome from Superintendent Jeffrey Lund, and an explanation of the POW/MIA Empty Table by Noah Underdahl and Rylie Fredrickson. Pastor Ollie Urdahl served as the chaplain.

The Keynote Speaker at this year’s program was ABF First Class Adam Sethre, US Navy. Legionnaires made presentations to the family of Stuart Sethre for 75 Years of Legion Service, to Jon Fosholm and H. Glen Odberg (Bubby) for 50 Years of Legion Service, and to PFC Cameron O’Hara who is currently serving our country.

Veterans receiving Quilts of Valor this year included Stan Adlis, E5, 2nd Class QM, US Navy, 19701974, Vietnam; Marlin Lee, Sp4, US Army, 1964-1966, Germany; Arlynn Tunheim, Sp5 US Army, 1965-1967, Germany; Dean Broten, Sgt US Army National Guard, 1970-1976, USA; H. Glen Odberg (Bubby), Sgt US Army, 1968-1970, Korea; and Glen Meekma, PFC US Army, 1963-1965, USA.
