We are gearing up for another year of Horse and Bible Camps, riding lessons, our annual women’s retreat and many other events that will take place during the riding season at Blazin’ Saddles.
Haven’t heard of Blazin’ Saddles? We are a 501C3 non-profit organization and our goal is to share Jesus and horses with those who come to Blazin’ Saddles. We offer day and overnight Horse and Bible camps throughout the summer to girls ages 7-18 and also hold a boys day camp for ages 7-12.
What happens at camp? Campers get to spend a lot of time riding the Blazin’ Saddles horses. We ride in the arena and also go on trail rides. We have a barnyard full of cuddly animals for the kids to spend time with when they aren’t riding; friendly goats, dogs, kittens, chickens and we normally have a foal or two that campers love to spend time with. We have a Bible class during camp, craft time and game time. For those at overnight camp, we do morning devotions with breakfast and devotions around the campfire in the evening. Campers help with chores so they experience first-hand the responsibility that comes with living on a ranch. One of the highlights of camp is sleeping in one of the rustic bunkhouses.
We are thankful for the great staff of wranglers, bunkhouse moms, cooks and Bible teachers who help us bless the campers at Blazin’ Saddles.
What is the women’s retreat? Our annual women’s retreat is held in September. It begins on a Friday afternoon and ends on Sunday after Cowgirl Church, a final trail ride and lunch before we say goodbye. At our women’s retreat, we provide a weekend for women to relax and detach from the stresses at home. Our goal is to encourage them in their faith and we hope they leave the ranch feeling refreshed and recharged. The best part is, you don’t have to have any horse experience to come and enjoy the weekend! During the weekend we do a lot of trail riding and also some fun games on horseback in the arena that always makes for a lot of laughs. We take time in the mornings to do devotions and fellowship together over coffee and again in the evening around the campfire. Ladies are blessed with relaxing massages on Saturday afternoon and we make a special craft to take home to remember the weekend. Women’s retreats are a blessing for the women who attend but also for those of us who put the event on.
What other events happen at Blazin’ Saddles? We are open to any kind of groups that want to set up an event at Blazin’ Saddles. We love having the Little Brother, Little Sister program a couple of times a year. We have home school groups and youth groups visit the ranch. We have done team building events for businesses. Blazin’ Saddles also offers riding lessons spring through fall.
2023 Horse and Bible camp registration will open early April. Watch our Blazin’ Saddles Facebook page or see our website for details.
