January 2023 The Gator Girls basketball team was on their way to another State Tournament, and on the way Kinsley Hanson sunk her 1,000th point for the Gators. The Gator wrestlers had three place at the “Rumble on the Red”, Sarah Pulk (1st), Owen Lund (4th), and Treston Nichols (5th). Our outside world looked a lot more like winter than 2024 does, but was also not typical, as a blanket of beautiful hoar frost lay over everything. Plans were being made for the year and those elected the previous November were sworn in, including Dave Casanova, the new mayor of Middle River. Douglas Insurance brought their many years of experience to town when they purchased the Middle River Agency in the former Rex Cafe.
