Second Street is now home to His Amazing Grace & Company.

Second Street is now home to His Amazing Grace & Company.

Owner Barb Senum started the company in July 2021, participating solely in vendor shows and, last year, moved up into an enclosed trailer which was also used as a traveling boutique. On December 3, 2023 she officially opened the brick and mortar location at 120 2nd Street S, which many will remember as the former Middle River Coop.

“Grace Den Crafts” was a filler name to become an official business but Barb knew she wanted to change the name to something else, but could never find the name that felt right... “until we moved into the brick and mortar location”, said Barb, “and then His Amazing Grace & Company hit my heart and I knew it was the name I wanted to permanently have. The name change was made official on January 1, 2024. A new sign is being worked on and will be up soon.” Currently, the business features a lot of the Christian and patriotic items Barb has personally created such as apparel, tumblers, and laser cut/engraved items. However, it will slowly transition into more of a Christian bookstore, still carrying the personal items Barb has created. These items won’t always be the stars of the show – Barb would like the books to be the stars eventually. Barb handles all the work at the store as well as creating all the non-book items. Her husband and children help out with the heavy lifting at vendor shows as well as assisting with random things that need to be built or odd jobs that need doing. The idea for the business started out as a small hobby when they were living in Thief River Falls. Barb says, “I have always been creative but never really utilized those skills.” She started to take some small items to vendor shows and they would sell, but she wanted to do more. She did some research and finding many creative ideas she said, “it was a bit of a ‘spiral down a rabbit hole’ that I have yet to climb out of!”

She took that creative energy and felt that she should put more of the focus on God and gradually moved away from some of the things she was previously creating and started focusing on more faith-based items. And speaking of creative energy, Barb is available to create personal projects and ideas that you may not be able or willing to create. Have you seen a personalized item that you would love to give as a gift but just don’t feel you have the time or ability to create? Bring the idea to Barb and she will create the project with your specifications.

Her current business hours are 9-4 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday; 9-6 Wednesday & Friday; and Closed Sunday and Monday.

Barb and Dustin got married June 14, 2020 in the backyard of their home in Middle River. They have two sons, Ayden,16, and Max, 5. And a giant sized baby of a dog, Bruno!

Dustin is originally from Thief River Falls where their son Max was born. Barb and her son Ayden are not even from Minnesota! She was born in Cleveland, OH and Ayden was born near Philadelphia, PA. They moved to Northwood, ND in 2014 and eventually to Thief River Falls in 2016, where fate and love took over and placed them in Middle River.
