Letter to the Editor

I come from a small town called Middle River where you think that your concerns would be heard by the Mayor and City Council. Well my concerns got laughed at.

I was a concerned citizen asking about people using the City’s skid steer for their private use. My concerns were not answered and I called again asked for an apology, again I got nothing. The Mayor, as a city official, should have stopped them from laughing but he let it happen.

I am a concerned citizen who pays my taxes and votes. I should have a say, too. If you ask me, this says a lot about our Mayor and our Council. I have also called about people driving across the walking path with cars and lumber trucks. There are signs up all over that say “No Motorized Vehicles” and also warn of a $500 fine. The Mayor said he would look in to it. What is there to look in to? Now there is a road plowed across the walking path for them. The cost for fixing any problems will go to the taxpayers, when it should go to the person who drives across it!

Being on the City Council should not give anyone special privileges. If that is the case then we should all be able to break the rules.

I also texted one of the City Councilmen and he told me he didn’t have time. Again, rejected. Excuse after excuse.

No one wants to take responsibility for anything. We need a clear change in our Mayor and City Council.
