As emergency responders, we are ready to respond to any emergency that arises, but we also want to do what we can to help reduce possible emergencies in our community. The Middle River squad is often the recipient of donations from community members, and they recently voted to use some of these funds to purchase LifeVac devices and donate them to daycares in and around Middle River.
The LifeVac is an upper airway clearing device that can be used on infants, children and adults that are choking. A quick look through their website, www. lifevac.net, shows that there have been over 1700 lives saved by using this device during an emergency. Some of those life saving actions were even selfadministered! Training videos and other tips can also be found on their site.
The Middle River Ambulance is proud to give back in this small way to a valuable part of our community.
