MCC Music Department has a Busy Month

UND Chamber Choir

UND Chamber Choir

The MCC Chamber choir performed at the University of North Dakota for the music department’s annual “Women in Song” concert, a program featuring music by female composers and/or music performed by female ensembles. The chamber choir performed one stand-alone piece, and sang in a mass choir to end the program. The group was invited to sing after UND professor, Melanie Popejoy heard them sing when she came to visit the school.

Band Large Group

On February 21st, the MCC high school band traveled to Roseau to participate in large group band contests. The band played two contrasting pieces in front of judges, receiving ratings and comments. Several of the judges then worked with the band, giving thoughtful advice. The band received an overall superior rating, the highest rating achievable at contests.
