Super Bowl Tid-bits
The game just played yesterday (Sunday) reminds me of the very first Super Bowl played in the Los Angeles Coliseum 57 years ago. I attended the first Super Bowl game won by Green Bay over Kansas City 35-10. There were over 30,000 unsold seats, maybe 60,000 at the game at most. I paid $12.00 for my ticket. Inflation of today would make the 12 dollar ticket around $91.00 in today’s money.
Food and drink consumption of just one of the previous Super Bowl games had this staggering amount of consumption for home parties. I am guessing half the country has parties for half of one day.
-6 million bushels of barley. One bushel makes perhaps 300 bottles of beer and that one bushel a farmer is paid around $6.00 p/bushel.
-end zone to end zone, the guacamole consumed would be approximately 53 feet deep.
-10 million pounds of ribs -chicken wings, one and quarter billion, laid end to end would go around the world 120 times. Add the potatoes, chips, pizza, cheese, and dairy products, wow...
Imagine what amount of food is needed to feed a hungry world.
