The Mar-Kit Landfill Board met February 8, 2023, 9:00 a.m. at the Landfill facility, rural Hallock. Board members present were Rolland Miller, Gary Kiesow, Sharon Bring, Loren Younggren, Leon Olson, and ex officio member Gary Rice. Also present was Manager Dale Nelson.
Chairman Leon Olson called the meeting to order. Gary/Loren moved to approve the January 11, 2023 minutes.
Dale presented the Landfill financial report which included recycling income of $3,200. Motion by Rolland/Sharon. Sharon/Gary moved to approve the payment of claims totaling $109,899.97 which included $27,920.25 for fall sampling and $5,922.99 for our 2018 Bomag Compactor repairs. All motions were unanimously approved.
Manager’s Report:
• Dale gave an update on our 2018 Compactor.
• We reviewed a decrease in our bond market value which will increase our payment to Minnesota Pollution Control.
• We viewed an audit proposal from Hoffman, Philipp & Martell. Dale will bring back more information next meeting.
January 2023 Contamination Fines: Alvarado $13.50 and Oslo $13.50.
Meeting adjourned by Leon with next meeting set for March 8, 2023, 9:00 a.m. at the Landfill.
