Three generations were able to attend the 50th Annual MN State Cattlemens Tour together with hundreds of others on June 25th. The tour was hosted by the MN Northwestern Stockmen’s Association.
Bob Dahl, his daughter Brenda Adamek, and grand daughter Jessa Schneider started and ended the 2024 tour at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in TRF last Tuesday.
The day started off with checking in at 6:30 and receiving their t-shirt and as well as usable tote bag of info and goodies. Everyone then loaded the chartered buses at 7:30 am and either took off to the North or the South routes, with the buses meeting back at TRF for a meatball and mashed potato lunch at NCTC. After eating, the busses once again were loaded to continue the tour in the opposite north and south routes.
Stops on the tour included:
•Eeg Cattle
•Didrikson Farms
•Greenbush Vet Clinic
•Waage Farms
•Hanson’s Dairy/Good-Vue Farms There were also presentations by DigiKey & Northland Community and Technical College. DigiKey informed about the many electronic parts they carry that ranchers & farmers could use to enhance their operations. NCTC told about their Ag, Food and Natural Resources program.
After the presentations, all the participants were served ribeye steak dinners at the Ralph with the meat supplied by Tyson. The last group lined up for food at 6:15pm. Following the meal were door prizes and trivia.
Adamek said it was a long day, but a great $25 gift for her dad’s 83rd birthday!
