During this year’s 50th Goose Festival celebration, the quilt was displayed on the background of the Main Street Stage.
Miss Middle River Kaydence Augustine poses by the two Christmas trees provided by the Middle River Community Club celebrating the 50th anniversary of both the Goose Festival and the Miss Middle River Pageant. All 50 Festival buttons adorn the MRCC tree and photos of all former titleholders cover the pageant tree.
The quilt’s first location of display was the front window of Young’s General Store, here shown at the Goose Festival community grillout sponsored by Young’s and Douglas Insurance.
Miss Middle River Kaydence Augustine finds a photo of herself next to Cladell Strandberg, the first Miss Middle River crowned in 1974 in conjunction with the first Goose Festival.

Following Goose Festival 2024 the quilt was returned to Young’s Store window until its recent move to Border Bank, pictured with Border employees Rachel Bukowski and Tonya Peterson. It will remain here until its next move to another Middle River business. Take some extra time to enjoy the details of this beautiful historical part of the 50 year journey of the Middle River Goose Festival.
