Middle River Winners

The drawing for the 2024 Merry Christmas Middle River contest was held at The Wheel in Middle River on December 20th. Nolan Lieberg’s name was drawn for the $500 grand prize!

Winners of certificates were Jessica Williams (The Old Creamery), Harlan Olson (The Wheel), Tonya Peterson (Middle River Co-op), Sharon Henning (Young’s General Store), Jess Sorterberg (Middle River American Legion Post 444), Lee & Wendy Carriere (The Garden Shop), Dan Taus (Natural Way Mills), Kathy Stratton (Paradise), Rick Beito (His Amazing Grace & Company), Joel Erickson (Honker Flats), and Sharon Henning (Klasen’s Greenhouse).

Many other businesses sponsored this year’s contest, including: Border Bank, MR Insurance Agency, Nelson Ink, The Honker, Benke Farms, Schenkey Inc., Middle River Community Club, Sportsmen’s Club, Bolduc Floors, Sassy but Classy Signs & Such, Sannes Coffee, Aune Outdoors - Landscape & Design, Beito Construction & Repair, Spruce Valley Corporation and Middle River Tax Service.

It’s once again time to glance back through the previous year’s front pages of The Middle River Honker. There was a lot to celebrate in January 2024, including the birth of the first baby at LifeCare. New parents Owen and Grace Novacek welcomed home their daughter Millie! Other notable events through the month included the GMR one-act play cast and crew taking first at subsections, Merry Middle River Christmas Tree awards going to MR Co-op, New Maine 4-H, & Border Bank.
