The BGMR FREEZE Track and Field teams have been very busy this spring, recently finishing meets in Roseau, Warren, and Thief River Falls.

There have been a number of standout athletes over the past few weeks that deserve special recognition. Liam Collins recently was named male athlete of the meet with 4 first place finishes in the triple jump, long jump, 100 meter dash and 4x100 meter relay. Grady Hockstedler placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and set a new school record with an 11.15 time. Kylie Snare a first year freshman set a conference meet record in triple jump with a 33’ 9.5” jump. Treston Nichols was named field athlete of the meet with a 1st place shot put and new school record of 48’ and a disc throw of 138’5”. Gavin Hockstedler and Cody Sanford, seniors, have consistently finished in the top of their events and been leaders for this young team.

Monday night the boys team won the overall team meet in Roseau with 124 team points which was done with only 10 boys. This is the first varsity meet win in many years and we as coaches are very proud of this team’s day in and day out effort.
