The Badger 5th grade was fortunate to be able to have the D.A.R.E program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) with Officer Logan Bender from Roseau County this year.
The students learned about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and vaping, as well as all types of bullying. Deputy Bender taught a lesson each week on those topics and at the end of the program the students all wrote personal commitment essays. Three students were selected as the top 3 essays and read them at their D.A.R.E graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. First place essay was written by Delyla Carpenter, second place essay by Autumn Turpitt, and the third place essay was by Rogan Hanson.
We appreciate and value this partnership with the Roseau County Sheriff's Department, and Deputy Logan Bender.
