MRCT Prepares for 2023 Youth Production

The Three Little Pigs, (Sascha Melby, Jordan Schenkey, and Isabella Gerardy) meet up with the Butcher, the Baker, and the Candle Stick Maker (Claire Nelson, Mayci Gast, and Betty Efta) in this scene from “A Walk in the Woods” by Debbie Metzler. Other local youth cast members in this show include Jayden Peterson, William Taus, Nataleah Lund, Tyla Tungseth, Dawson Mimnaugh, Zoey Helm, Amya Stromsodt, Tarson Erickson, Camden Melcher, Olivia Crummy, Haddie Veselka, Jaxon Melcher, Reece Koland, and Eve Nelson. In this story, Goldilocks, forestsavvy from having to survive in the woods without a family, is on the run from The Three Bears but takes time to help Red Riding Hood, who is leery of her stepmother’s motivation in sending her out into the woods at dusk with a basket full of food and a bright red cloak. Along the way, they are saved by the Woodsman (who also happens to be Hansel and Gretel’s father) and from the zany Wolf. By the time you bring in citizens of Mother Goose’s village, including Jack Horner, you have an enchanting - well, maybe not enchanting, but very interesting fractured fairy tale. The show is under the direction of Alyssa Principe, assisted by Tina Taus. Don’t miss this entertaining tale performed by the Youth of the Middle River Community Theatre. Performances are Tuesday, June 27, Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29, all performances at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are available at Young’s General Store.
