NEWFEST 2023

SEPTEMBER 9, 10 & 11

This year’s Newfest is a region-wide celebration of friends, family, and community. You are invited to join the festivities; this year’s Newfest promises to be better than ever. This year we celebrate the Newfolden Fire Department as they are recognized for 75 years of service! Be sure to visit the Fireman’s Burger Feed fundraiser starting at 11:00am at the Newfolden Fire Hall.

September 8, 9, & 10 is the date for this year’s event. Participate in all Newfest has to offer! Many activities benefit local volunteer or service organizations – we encourage you to check them out! Friday evening hosts an outdoor movie in the Newfolden City Park. Lilo & Stitch will be shown at dusk.

Concessions will be available for purchase. Sponsored by BrewHaHa Coffee Shop.

Saturday activities include the Newfest Parade at 11:30 and Pet Parade beginning 10 minutes before the parade (Sharon Bring 8743713 / 689-2946, [email protected], or Pat Moen 523-4822), The Outdoor Market Place (Melanie Sorenson at 416-2067), the Country Market (Darcy Hestekind or Leola Engelsrud 874-2256). Visit the Marshall County Central High School and a Tractor Show (Jerry Swaser – 686-1455), coffee and donuts available. Show will begin at 9:00am until 5:00PM. Bingo, sponsored by the American Legion Post 427, is at 3:00pm at the Community Center. This is followed by HeeHaa-Just Jammin’ and Jokes at 6:00pm.

Newfest offers many free events including the Darryl Jarshaw Tractor Pull (Phil Klopp-218-28-439, or Darrick Jarshaw-684-0341), Pedal Pull by Petal to the Metal (ages 4-11) Horse and Wagon Rides by Point Paradise Stables, 1 Mile and 5K Run/Walk by Westaker Church with metals for division winners and t-shirts for pre-registry (Shannon Converse and Kayla Nelson- 686-3028 or [email protected]), Jump For Joy Inflatables, “Arik’s Animal Ark Petting Zoo, Games, vendors throughout the day, Coin Scramble, and Face Painting begin at 1:00PM. Xtreme Ball, Octoball, Archery, and the 5 cent Family Fun Fair will be hosted on the Promise Land, At dusk come for a campfire and s’mores at the Evangelical Free Church parking lot. Watch for posters and pocket schedules.

Finally, a variety of music entertainment begins at 12:30 PM and will be located downtown in the bandshell: Key Beat (Augustine Family), Waterworth Grandchildren, Eric and Patty Mickelson, Dirty Pahzoodahl (Dale Price), Bubba Maki, and 100 Proof from 8:00 – Midnight (inside the Hobo Haus if inclement weather)! A music schedule will be made available before Newfest weekend.

Sunday ends the Newfest weekend with the Newfolden Lion’s Brunch from 9:00 am to 1:00 PM at the Newfolden Community Center.

A $200 Treasure Hunt is planned again this year! All ages are welcome to participate.

A wide variety of food options will be available from our favorite food vendors: Un-Fork-Edible, Spudwagon, Smoke on Wheels, Bjerk Concessions, Rainbow Concessions, Uff-da Tacos, Humblebee’s CafĂ©, BrewHaHa Coffee Shop, and the Hobo Haus.

Newfest buttons/raffle will be available at local business; purchase a button for $5.00 and you are registered to win $400, $300, 200, and $100 in cash, along with other gift certificates and prizes. Need not be present to win!
