Northern Freeze Cross Country Team makes its Debut

Coach Teri Peterson couldn’t be more excited that a new Cross Country team has been created this year. Team captain Reagan Mimnaugh is serving as leader of the squad, and other team members include Emily Waterworth, Brooke Bjorgaard, Kylee Bolstad, Lexi Bring, Abigail Gossaman, Jackson Barth. The team competed in its first meet of the season in Perham with 24 teams competing. Only three of the team members were able to compete because of other commitments but they performed well. Eighth grader Lexi Bring ran in the girls JH 3200 race against 73 other racers and finished in 18th place with a time of 14.58. A great beginning!

Rural Reflections

As a high-school student, I learned early that harvest and other fall activities were sometimes at odds. Unfortunately, I found that my dad had called the high school and told them I had to come home instead of going to the concert. The combine had broken down and I had to milk cows while dad fixed the combine. Today, harvest and school are less at odds with each other and actually have something in common, a connection between patience and safety.
