Jeanie Stout
Jeanie Stout

Jeanette Olive Berg Stout was born on June 4, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was adopted by loving parents Victor and Helen (Schlottman) Berg. She grew up in Middle River, Minnesota and graduated from Middle River High School in 1958.
Jeanie was united in marriage to Terence Stout on August 16, 1959, in Middle River. After their marriage, they moved to Modesto, California where Terry taught school for a year. They returned to Minnesota, moving to Fosston, where Terry worked in the school district as teacher, coach, and principal. In addition to raising their four children, Jeanie taught piano lessons and played the organ in Hope Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She played for numerous weddings, funerals and for other special occasions in the church and community. She also owned and operated Birch Cove Imports in downtown Fosston for several years.
After their retirement, Terry and Jeanie liked to travel and spend time in Florida during the winter months and at their cabin on Lake of the Woods in the summer. Terry passed away on June 25, 2006. We find comfort in knowing they are together again.
Jeanie was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Loaves and Fishes Food Shelf and the welcome desk at Essentia in Fosston. She loved to read, walk, and enjoyed doing needlework. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family at the cabin, a place where many special memories were made. She will be dearly missed.
Jeanie passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at her home in Fosston after a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was 84 years old.
Survivors include four children, Cara (Lee) Dayley of Brigham City, UT, Ted (Becky) of Grafton, ND, Kris (Douglas) Reardon of Fargo, ND, and Tom (Grace) of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Edward (Pam), Charlie (Katrina), Benjamin, Andrew (Micah), Maria (Christopher), Brendan, and Helen; 9 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terence; and brother, David.
Our family is deeply grateful for the compassionate and dedicated care that the Fosston medical community provided to our mom, grandma and great grandma during her illness and final days. The kindness, attentiveness, and unwavering support made a difficult time bearable and allowed us to cherish our last moments together. We thank you for your professionalism and genuine empathy; we will never forget your kindness.
